Aren't the tropics great for growing plants? Paul used to say - you could put a broomstick in the ground and it would grow. And your hibiscus -- living proof! Beautiful Marlo.
My mother was a proponent of putting sticks in the ground. She did this with a lilac bush, and I can't remember what else. All I know is this is definitely a way to propagate *some* plants. Well done, Marlo!
Trust and hope, what a pair! And once in a while, they work in mysterious ways. When we have nothing else, it's what we bank on. Hibiscus flowers always feel like a faraway escape to me; a place of wonder and relaxation, and a tunnel overhanging with lush plants or flowers always feels like an entrance into a magical place, almost fairytale-like!
I love that the hibiscus sticks you planted are flourishing, Marlo! What a beautiful blessing you left behind. It seems like everything grows easily here in Jamaica as well, so I'm going to ask my friend for some sticks of her hibiscus bush and give this a try!! Give thanks and a deep bow to you, beautiful soul of light 🙏💫🌸
❤❤❤
Thanks Tracy!

Haha! It’s the truth! (But a broomstick??!!) 😉
Paul likes to speak in hyperbole ):

Oh that's awesome your mom knew this 'trick'! I really think it wouldn't work. Glad it did!
That's amazing, and they look beautiful. I wouldn't have believed Flaco either. Hibiscus flowers are so pretty.
Thanks Nancy! I love hibiscus!

Exactly! Trust and hope! I love hibiscus- and the Spanish name for them is amapola
We have hibiscus here but I’ve never heard of cutting them into sticks and planting them. Great job you guys. You made everything better and prettier
I couldn’t believe it either! Not something we do in the US! Thanks 😘

Yes! Maybe it’s the tropical climate! I do hope you try it, and think of me when you do! 🤗😍Thanks Deanna!
