I really need to try that. I have a hard time relaxing and just being. My husband has been on a number of meditation retreats all over the US and New Zealand. One of these days I will actually listen to him and learn! Thanks for the great reminder and tips.
Love hearing about your meditation journey. Once we stop trying *not* to think, we are on our way. I had meditated for years before a bathroom remodel disrupted my morning schedule. I have been struggling to get back into it. Your post today is an inspiration and a reminder that sitting with myself is the best place to be 🤍
I love this so much and you word it perfectly. We have this idea that we need to be perfect and not think about anything, or it's not for us, or we don't have time. Until it clicks and then you can't be without it.
It's really helped me understand spirituality so much more. ❤️🙏
Thank you for sharing this! I got intrigued enough to click on the link you provided and found a local center. Signed up for an info session on Wednesday. I noticed there's a fee to learn how to do this. Was not expecting that. I guess I was under the impression I could just read up on it or watch a free Youtube video. LOL
Oh cool! Yes, there is a fee to learn TM (I don't remember why) but I know they have scholarships etc or a sliding scale fee now. You do get lifetime access to all TM programs and things if you do it. Otherwise, any way you make meditation work for you is the 'right' way! Good luck!
Sitting still and letting go sound easy but they truly are a practice! Sorry about the passing of your Dad, but you're continuing his legacy by continuing what he loved. A fantastic story.
I’ve got many mantras but always open to other suggestions!! My dad could meditate anywhere and he was sooo chill (mom not so much-she didn’t meditate haha!)
Marlo- I have seriously noticed how much calmer and at peace you seem to be now than before your RP journey. I, too, have to force myself to stop being so busy. It’s a tough lesson!
This was like a refresher course for me. I used to have a set time to meditate each morning but in recent years I've completely let it fall by the wayside. I need to get back into the practice.
As for something that helped me slow down and ground myself, I'd say for me it was a combo of grief and my dog. After a great loss you REALLY take stock of your life and redefine what's important. And when you have a dog, you automatically get outdoors a lot more and appreciate things like nature, weather, quiet, calm etc.
Thanks for the reminder to get back to meditation. 😊
Aw thanks Kristi! And yes, sometimes life throws you the big losses (and yours was a great loss!) but we can shrink or learn and redefine the important things. Sometimes just the reminder to Sit. Be still. And listen is what we need. Peace to you 💜

Thanks Nancy! It doesn’t have to be complicated. Good luck!

Thanks Ilona! Life happens and yes we can fall away from our meditation practice…but yes come on back to sit. Be still. And listen!

Thanks Hayley! You're exactly right-until it clicks and then you can't be without it! Peace!

It is definitely a practice! Thanks for reading Daniel!
Looking for mantra suggestions? Great story and fun to think of your dad meditating. I did not remember him being very chill.

Aw thanks SaSa sister! Love you! At least now you’re the busy you like- grandma busy, travel busy, fun busy! 🥰
