“In Costa Rica, you have to be content to accomplish one thing each day. If you expect to do more, you will be disappointed.”...maybe these are just words to live by, Marlo! ❤️❤️ You really chose the perfect name for your publication! 🌈
I saw the pelo del gato rain when I was in Costa Rica. It looked like long straight lines of rain-a very strange thing indeed! The retreat villa that I rented in Greece this past month was also on the top of a very steep, twisty, and windy rode. Two cars would have to shimmy past each other very slowly, and God forbid you were the one on the edge of the road. I clench my jaw just thinking about it! But it was so beautiful up there that it was worth it!!!
Yes, sometimes doing something scary (or driving a scary road!) leads to more beauty than you might realize when you need to make the decision to do it!
Marlo, every time I read an installment of "the build" I giggle but also feel intense anxiety. I swear you two are better humans than I am. This just looks too hard 🤣 I think I've said this before...I would've just moved home lol!
On another note, each time i read about the road getting up to your place, one specific location comes to mind for me. The very last place I ever reviewed in Jamaica was a gorgeous guest house at the TOP of the island. It was so high that airplanes flying into Montego Bay were below us. I drove up and down the road several times during my stay and I'm kicking myself that I didn't even film it once. It was steep, narrow, and had one hairpin turn sooooo hairpin that a regular car (mine) sometimes couldn't do it in one maneuver. All this is to say THANKS for the memories 😊
Oh Kristi, my intent is not to give you or readers anxiety but to laugh along with me! Now that all of this is in my past, it's funny to me that we did do this (although, I do admit-I had major anxiety at the time as you can tell!)
I'm glad my description and video of our road brought back memories for you too! I can't imagine making more than one maneuver on a hairpin! That would be hair-raising for sure!

Thanks! It was quite the Adventure!
Yes love this saying. 🙏
Oh the rain! And that rain description from Forrest Gump is so accurate! 😅

Can’t believe the anxiety you all went through. It took tons of patience and courage I’m sure. 👏
You know it!
