This really resonated with me!

Just came back from a trip to Costa Rica and so much loved the nature and the weather there...

Thank you and welcome! The nature is incredible and we were fortunate to live in the place where ‘the mountains rise out of the sea’ in Uvita. I see you were in Dominical and Drake Bay in some familiar spots. Next time stop about 20 minutes south of Dominical in Uvita (I know a great hotel!) and explore Marino Ballena National Park- it’s a marine national park and much less crowded than Manuel Antonio National park, especially in high season. Pura vida!!

Thanks for the advice! Marino Ballena was indeed on our list, but we didn't manage to see it. We'll definitely go again to Costa Rica :)

Love this and miss walking with you! The wildlife we see is such an amazing and awesome thing everyday and it never gets old! You and Mark always helped us identify birds and there were many!

This was beautiful and shot me right in the heart ❤️ I know what it's like to miss the most basic things from a past life. So bittersweet 😊

I love that you had so much wildlife in your surroundings! Must have been an awesome way to live.

I don’t know why … but this brought me to tears … this is all so true! I miss out mountain hikes and the occasional “ let’s find another long road to hike” .. and get some unexpected helado on the way back!! Miss you my friend! And Flaco too … I see him in town sometimes. 💕

Thanks Linda (the human)! It is true and as an inspiration for that section of the story, I still STOP now when and I pass a cool flower, or bug or anything.

Also miss the long hikes to waterfalls where we did stop for some helado for breakfast! 🍦

What a wonderful synopsis of your life and loving the little things that made up your days in CR. The things that made CR CR. The people, the animals, la vida, the sounds, the coffee, the breeze and air. Even the language. That was a beautiful tribute.

First, I LOVE Costa Rica. I was there a year ago for the first time and saw all the animals in the rain forest, the cloud forest and the beach. They were amazing. The howler monkeys came to our hotel restaurant for breakfast like a bunch of bandits. The birds are soooo beautiful, as are the tarantulas, snakes, and iguanas.

I still have the recording I made of the sounds of the forest in the morning.

I love the question "How did you rise?" because it's introspective and invites more than a cursory response.

Thanks for bringing back those beautiful memories❤️

Thanks Ilona, I'm glad you got to experience the beauty of Costa Rica! I was fortunate to live in the place there 'where the mountains rise out of the sea', so we had the best of both worlds-rainforest and beach. And I'm glad you found the 'how did you rise' introspective, as I did! Pura Vida.
